Printing tips

The results you can achieve in printing will depend on a number of elements and specific advice may vary depending on the product you are looking to produce. However a few simple things you can do to ensure you get a top quality product are:

Ensure all image files are at least 300 dpi and are size appropriate for the dimensions of your artwork
When preparing PDF files ensure you create a press quality file
For PDF files embed all fonts or convert text to curves to ensure the type face is not lost during the printing process
Use CMYK colour mode when preparing images and artwork
Consider how close you position text and images to the edge of the page or fold lines. We recommend a 5 mm gap as a minimum.
Where you require printing to the edge of the page you will need to add “bleed” to your artwork. This means you need to add at least 3 mm to the page size on each side of your artwork and ensure the colours or pictures continue into this space. This will add a total of 6 mm to the overall dimensions of your artwork page size. Please note that this will be cut off during the production process.
