Shelf talkers and wobblers printed on 350gsm cardstock for retail display

A shelf talker is a printed card that clips or attaches to the edge of a retail shelf and extends outward into the aisle.

Also called a wobbler — because the flexible tab causes it to move slightly as customers walk past — it's one of the most effective ways to intercept a shopper at the exact moment they're making a purchasing decision.

Inteliprint prints shelf talkers in four shapes on heavy 350gsm stock, with your choice of matt or gloss laminate finish.

What Are Shelf Talkers Used For?

Shelf talkers are used wherever a product needs to stand out from the shelf without relying on packaging alone:

  • Supermarkets and grocery stores — price callouts, promotional flags, new product launches, and "on special" notices
  • Bottle shops and liquor retail — wine and spirit descriptors, tasting notes, award callouts, and pricing
  • Pharmacies — product benefit callouts, health claim highlights, and promotional pricing
  • Hardware and trade stores — feature callouts, specification highlights, and bulk-buy promotions
  • Bookshops — staff picks, genre flags, and promotional pricing
  • Convenience and petrol stations — impulse purchase prompts and promotional offers at eye level

Shelf Talker Shapes Available

  • Round — the classic wobbler shape. Eye-catching from any angle and works well for simple price or promo callouts.
  • Square — clean and structured. Suits brands that want a more considered, premium feel on shelf.
  • Rectangle — maximum print space for more detailed messaging, tasting notes, or product descriptions.
  • Round with Banner — a round head with a rectangular banner extending below. Ideal for combining a visual callout with additional copy or a price point.

What Is the Difference Between a Shelf Talker and a Wobbler?

They're the same thing — "shelf talker" and "wobbler" are used interchangeably in Australian retail. "Wobbler" refers to the slight movement caused by the flexible plastic or card tab that attaches the piece to the shelf edge. "Shelf talker" is the more common trade term in retail merchandising.

Both terms describe the same product: a printed display card that clips to a shelf edge and extends into the aisle to attract attention.
